'Ghost Boy' Martin Pistorius Awakes From 12 Years Virtual Coma - Mother Said 'I Hope You Die'

Posted in: , ,

Martin Pistorius became a virtual 'vegetable' after falling into an unexplained coma when he was just 12 years old. He awoke after 12 years describing how he heard everything that was said, including his mother saying; "I hope you die." He survived and was the first guest on NPR's new radio show about human behavior, Invisibilia.

Martin describes his coma as being trapped inside a weakened, helpless body, unable to speak or move, but with his brain active. Because of his age, he had only children's programs to keep him company most of the time. He says it was his burning desire to get away from Barney, the always happy, dancing, purple dinosaur - whom he hated - that gave him the impetus to find a way to communicate.

4 Mobile Apps To Help The Busy Working Woman Achieve Work And Family Life Balance

Posted in: , , , , ,

By Jeroh Tejiri

We all know the personal story of Indra Nooyi - CEO of PepsiCo - how she juxtaposes being one of the most powerful CEOs of our time and the routine that comes with being a mother of two. She has talked about the importance of multi-tasking, delegating responsibilities to reduce your personal workload and having an understanding husband.

While these  are quite inspiring, they may have little to no traction in for all women. Sometimes, the average husband may not be so ‘understanding’, or the mother-in-law may be too busy with her own life, and some househelps can be very ‘unprofessional', thereby making delegating responsibilities a nightmare.

The above issues makes the implementation of some work-life productivity tips quite daunting and creates a void which I believe technology can provide some relief in its own way. Below are real tips on using your smart devices to create the needed balance in your professional and domestic life.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde On The Meaning of Success, Her Childhood And Staying Scandal Free

Posted in: , , ,

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that she had a humble background and still feels passionate about the divide between poverty and wealth, Makoko and Island. The actress, activist and philanthropist also talks about what success means to her, her fears, achievements and being scandal-free. Excerpts from the interview, with Sunday Sun, follow...

Can you give us tips on how to be a successful woman?
It actually starts with character, personality and what beliefs. Everything wrong today actually started from the content of a character. Are you immoral or are you straight forward enough to actually say something and carry through with it. Is the content of your character strong enough? I believe that for you to be great in anything, you have to be someone anyone can trust.you believe in. It stems from your moral.

Can you define what success means to you?
I think success is when God is happy with you. When the closest people around you are happy with you and when your soul is at peace with you.
